Quotes for the same seven images range from $60 to $3,000, which tells a seller almost nothing. Here is what the market actually charges in 2026, what sits behind each price band, and how to work out what your product needs.

The going rates

Across freelance marketplaces, studios and agencies, published 2026 pricing falls into fairly consistent bands.

Per image

  • White background product shot: roughly $25–$75
  • Infographic or feature callout: roughly $50–$200
  • Lifestyle image, photographed with models or props: roughly $100–$350

Full sets and A+

  • Basic set, simple product: around $200–$700 per ASIN
  • Full gallery with infographics: around $700–$1,500
  • Premium: lifestyle, models, A+ and video: $1,500–$3,500 and up
  • A+ Content design on its own: around $250–$600

Those are market ranges collected from published price lists, not quotes for your product. Where you land inside them depends less on the designer’s reputation than on four things.

What actually moves the price

1. Photography or rendering

If the product must be photographed, someone has to receive a sample, book a studio and shoot it. That is the expensive part. If the product can be rendered in 3D from a CAD file or good reference photos, you pay once for the model and then get unlimited angles, colourways and scenes without another shoot — which is why 3D has become the default for anything hard-surfaced.

2. How difficult the product is to shoot

Glass, chrome, anything transparent or highly reflective, and anything that needs a model, all add hours. A matte plastic box does not.

3. Research, or the lack of it

The cheapest listings are drawn straight from your brief. Better ones start with the category: what competitors claim, what reviews complain about, which objection is killing conversion. That research is most of the difference between an attractive gallery and one that moves click-through.

4. Revisions and ownership

Check what is included. Two rounds or unlimited? Source files or flattened JPEGs? Rights to reuse the images on your own site and ads, or Amazon only? A cheap quote that excludes source files gets expensive at the first product update.

What is included — research, revisions, source files — explains most of the price gap.

What you should expect at each budget

  • Under $150 for a full set: template work. Fine for a test listing on a commodity product; do not expect research or a distinctive main image.
  • $180–$600: the practical middle. A purpose-built main image, benefit-led infographics and a coherent gallery. This is where most established sellers land per ASIN.
  • $1,000 and up: photography with models, custom 3D, video and A+ built as one system. Worth it for a hero product, a brand launch, or a listing already carrying paid traffic.

How to decide what to spend

Work from the listing, not from the invoice. At 1,000 sessions a month and a $30 product, lifting click-through by a couple of points pays for a $500 gallery within weeks. On a product doing twenty sessions a month, the same spend buys nothing — fix demand, price or keywords first.

Two questions settle most cases:

  • Is traffic arriving and not clicking? That is a main-image problem, and it is the cheapest thing on this page to fix.
  • Are people clicking and not buying? That is an infographic, A+ and review problem — more content, not a prettier hero shot.
